Dental Fillings

When you have a filling done on a tooth, it is designed to repair and restore the surface of your tooth. This is usually done when there is significant decay, or if the tooth has been fractured. The dental filling will strengthen the tooth, and by doing this as early as possible, you can preserve that tooth for as long as possible. A filling can last over 10 years when done properly. If you would like to have a filling done on one or more teeth that are currently causing you pain, or that have obvious signs of decay, you should have this resolved as soon as possible.

How Is A Filling Actually Done?

The dentist will provide you with a local anesthetic and begin to remove the damaged or decayed surface of your tooth. The bacteria will be removed and a dental filling material will be placed at the damaged area which will be used to restore the tooth appearance.
